Our Story
Schmook Appraisal Company was founded in 1968 by John E. Schmook, MAI. John had been in the field of real estate appraising since 1959, working for various mortgage/lending institutions and the United States Government. He operated the company as a sole proprietorship until 1976 at which time his son, Alan Schmook, joined the company. In 1980, Alan became the office manager for Schmook Appraisal Company, and in 1985 Alan acquired the remaining ownership interest from John and became the sole proprietor of Schmook Appraisal Company. Alan's real estate appraisal experience spans more than 40 years.
